Maya Parness

Director of Youth Engagement

Maya graduated in May 2022 from Vanderbilt University with majors in Secondary Education and Mathematics. She has been part of the URJ Eisner Camp family for 14 years first as a camper and in recent years as a drama instructor, counselor, and unit head and participated in a series of fellowships throughout her time on staff. With a passion for teaching, social justice, and theater, Maya brings her energy, warmth, and enthusiasm to her work at Community Synagogue of Rye, bringing themes of play and collaboration to Jewish education. During college, Maya took on major leadership roles at Vanderbilt Hillel including songleader, Vice President of First Year Engagement, and Vice President of Jewish Life; and founded Vanderbilt’s chapter of the Association for Women in Math. In her spare time, Maya loves to see new works of theater, watch cooking shows with her family, and host a minyan for 20s-30s in NYC!
