Achim / Brotherhood
The Achim Men’s Club is a home for members of Community Synagogue to build a stronger connection to their fellow congregants. “Achim” is Hebrew slang for “Bro,” and a brotherhood is what we are building through bi-monthly events that are intended to help members learn together and learn from each other. Events include speakers, organized dinners, poker nights, as well as cultural and sporting events. For our young adults as well as our seniors, it is a chance to break bread with your fellow congregants and create a true sense of connection and community.

Achim / Brotherhood invites all male congregants & in the community to come & celebrate the 5th night of Chanukah! Explore the long Jewish history of alcohol, from ancient to modern times. Over thousands of years, alcohol has played an important role in Jewish life. Together, we will learn how Jews shaped the global spirits industry over the last thousand years. We will see how those unique histories combined to make Jews the linchpin in the creation of the most American of liquors: bourbon! You will see how Jews turned corn into gold and we'll taste our way through history with flights of bourbon throughout! Come hungry to learn and thirsty to experience bourbon in a whole new, Jewish way!

Mike is co-head of the sports division at Creative Arts Agency (CAA), a world-leading talent and sports agency representing some of the biggest names in sports and show business. Mike has been ranked as one of the most influential people in sports by Sports Business Journal.

It’s that time of year again. Brotherhood/Achim invites adults and teens to help build the sukkah. No experience necessary. We will provide the tools and delicious cider and donuts.
