Interfaith Welcome

The Rye Women’s Interfaith Committee, established in 1976, is dedicated to the promotion of good will and understanding among people of different faiths. Fundamental to our purpose is the recognition of beliefs shared and respect for differences. Monthly meetings provide growth in interfaith understanding through discussion, films and trips.

The Committee’s annual project is to present the community with an interesting and thoughtful speaker addressing a challenging topic, which can be shared by all faiths. When speakers, mini-courses and trips to places of religious interest are scheduled, the broader community is invited to participate.

The Committee membership is a steering group representing the Rye Houses of Worship and receives a donation of support from them. We are grateful to the Rye interfaith clergy for their time, support and guidance.

Interfaith Manual

A Comprehensive Guide For Welcoming Your Interfaith Family

Community Synagogue of Rye (CSR) endeavors to help create strong Jewish families. Interfaith marriages and Interfaith families are a significant part of those Jewish families in today’s congregations. We hope that all who want to create a Jewish family and be part of the Jewish community can take advantage of the many opportunities for participation and feel comfortable doing so at CSR.

Community Synagogue warmly opens doors and hearts to our non-Jewish members. Whether you are affiliated with another religious institution, or CSR is your only congregation, this synagogue is a place you can call your “spiritual home.” You are part of our synagogue family.

The information in our Interfaith Manual provides a brief overview of Interfaith policies at CSR. For a complete copy please contact Sarit Katzew at 967-6262 or email at skatzew@comsynrye.org.
